How to install a penny tile backsplash in the kitchen?

Even if the visual impact of penny tiles is huge, bad penny tile installation can break the all design. So, when installing penny tiles, you need to follow the instructions. If you don’t do it right, you’ll see lines running through your wall. Penny tiles come with a mesh that provides easy installation. But before applying them to the wall you need to lay them on the counter and define the layout. This way you can avoid the lines and you can define the cutting lines on the tiles. If you need to cut, tile nippers will do the job.

After the preparation of tiles, apply a thin-set mortar with a trowel on the backsplash area and push the mesh that penny tiles come on. Be careful to spread the mortar equally and start with small areas. If you will cover the all backsplash area with mortar, you run the risk of thin-set drying out. That’s why it is better to go with small rectangular pieces as the mesh size. After applying the tiles, you need to grout your tiles. Check the directions about the grout and mix it, apply the grout with a float and cover all the spaces between the tiles.
