How to install a scallop tile backsplash?

For the installation of a scallop tile backsplash, you need a tape measure, level, sander, sponge, painter’s tape, tile saw or cutter, mortar, notched trowel, grout, grout float, grout sealer, caulk, and caulk gun. Before starting the installation process, clean and sand the area to create a smooth surface and define the boundaries with painter’s tape. Also, it is important to define the layout before the installation, this way you can avoid some unmatching pieces. To define the layout, you can lay the tiles on the counter place the tiles.

Installation

If you don’t have to seal the tiles, you can start grouting after the tiles are dried. Apply the grout with a grout trowel by using 45 angle motions and wait until the grout dries. Once, the grout is dried, clean the tile surfaces with a cloth to remove the haze. And for a final step, caulk the area where the backsplash meets with the counter to reduce staining.
